Meet the Bunker Labs Phoenix City Leader: Ben Bronson

The fertile start-up soil that once made San Francisco infamous for budding business has since become nearly impossible to grow in. Entrepreneurs have found that the astronomical cost of living paired with the cut-throat competition has made the early stages of business unrealistic for many. As a result, more and more entrepreneurs have turned their attention to smaller, more accessible cities to serve as their home base. One of these growing, start-up friendly cities is Phoenix, soon to be home of the newest Bunker Labs chapter.

Phoenix is a natural choice for a number of reasons. Favorable legislation, low cost of living, an uninterrupted pool of talent and a growing community of entrepreneurial support has led to an influx of new business. Arguably the strongest incentive for start-ups is the recently passed Arizona legislation allowing businesses to function for up to two years and serve as many as 10,000 customers before applying for formal license. Cutting out the red tape surrounding licensure means less money, less time and faster real-world business prowess for entrepreneurs. In addition, nearby schools like the University of Arizona and Arizona State provide direct access to potential talent for business owners to tap into.

One of the city leaders heading up the new Phoenix chapter is Ben Bronson. A six-year Army combat engineer veteran, Bronson went on to receive two bachelor’s degrees from Arizona State University and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He has a rich background in startups and has been involved in the creation of five separate start up businesses. He is now working on Robotics Federation, a robotics startup with the mission of advancing robotics for the benefit of humanity.

Bunker Labs Phoenix is the first chapter in Arizona and will be launching later this month with a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 20th. The chapter will be housed at WeWork Block 23, all who are available are invited to attend. The event link can be found by clicking the button below
